| episode_narrative | A weak weather disturbance moved across New England during the afternoon of Wednesday, September 8th. This resulted in late afternoon and evening thunderstorms across northern Vermont. Locally heavy rainfall was reported...especially in the Burlington area. Thunderstorms reformed on the outflow boundary resulting in numerous thunderstorms moving over the same area. No flooding was reported, but ponding on area roadways caused difficult travel with some traffic lights becoming inoperable for a few hours. At the Burlington International Airport, 2.24 inches of rain fell setting a new 1 hour and 2 hour record rainfall rate. The rain was accompanied by wind gusts to 35 knots (40 mph). |
