| episode_narrative | During the evening of the 26th thunderstorms with heavy rain and frequent lightning caused some urban and poor drainage flooding as well as scattered power outages in Camden and Gloucester Counties. SKYWARN Spotters, Hydrological Observers and Doppler Radar Storm Estimates indicated that between 1.0 and 2.5 inches of rain fell across much of the area. The bulk of the rain fell within a one hour period around 10 p.m. EDT. In Cherry Hill, 300 residents of an apartment building were evacuated when the thunderstorm damaged underground power lines and set fire to a transformer. They returned at 3 p.m. EDT on the 27th. Storm totals included 2.69 inches in Voorhees, 2.49 inches in Hammonton (across the Camden County border in Atlantic County) and 1.71 inches in Verga. |
