Episode narrativeepisode_narrativeDaytime heating combined with a moist airmass to bring storms during the late afternoon and evening hours on the 17th. Storms continued in association to a mesoscale convective vortex late on the 17th into the early morning hours of the 18th, bringing wind damage to portions of southwest Mississippi. Additional storms developed across Louisiana and west Mississippi through the night. These storms were extremely slow moving and continued to develop and move over the same areas, which resulted in significant flash flooding across portions of northeast Louisiana and west Mississippi.
