episode_narrativeHeavy rain, associated with weak low pressure systems riding along a nearly stationary frontal boundary in the southern Delmarva Peninsula, fell across southwestern New Jersey from the evening of the 23rd to mid-day on the 24th. This was the most widespread rain since the beginning of June. Storm totals averaged between 2.0 and 3.0 inches across much of the area. Due to the extremely dry weather preceding this week, there were significant, but within bankfull rises on the major rivers and creeks. Roadway flooding occurred in the usual poor drainage and low-lying areas. Storm totals included 3.94 inches in New Lisbon, 3.58 inches at the McGuire AFB, 3.05 inches in Seabrook, 2.84 inches in Mount Laurel, 2.63 inches in Somerdale, 2.06 inches in Atsion and 1.04 inches in Verga.
