episode_narrativeAn upper level storm moved from the southwestern U.S. across Texas on the 12th. Rich moisture was pulled from the Gulf of Mexico into North Texas ahead of the storm. Widespread rain and thunderstorms developed across the central and eastern portions of northern Texas during the midday hours as the low pressure system moved across the region. Locally heavy rainfall occurred in some areas as strong thunderstorms moved repeatedly over the same places. Widespread one to three inch rains fell with some areas receiving up to five inches. Heavy runoff resulted in scattered flood reports through the evening.
