| episode_narrative | Heavy rain associated with the remnants of Tropical Storm Josephine affected New Jersey primarily during the daylight hours on the 8th. Peak wind gusts averaged around 30 mph in Northwest New Jersey and 40 to 45 mph elsewhere. Stronger winds occurred along the coastal counties. The strong wind gusts did knock over some tree limbs mainly in Southern New Jersey. While the heavy rain did cause the usual poor drainage flooding, recent dry weather and foliage still on the trees prevented further flooding. Storm totals included 2.56 inches in Chatham (Morris County), 2.41 inches in Wertsville (Hunterdon County), 2.35 inches in Iselin (Middlesex County), 2.21 inches in Mays Landing (Atlantic County), 2.18 inches at the Marina in Atlantic City, 1.94 inches in West Cape May (Cape May County), 1.81 inches in Washington's Crossing (Mercer County), 1.83 inches at the McGuire A.F.B, 1.68 inches in New Lisbon (Burlington County), 1.60 inches in Pennsauken (Camden County), 1.59 inches in Millville (Cumberland County) and 1.38 inches in Hackettstown (Warren County). |
