| episode_narrative | Heavy rain associated with the remnants of Tropical Storm Josephine affected Eastern Pennsylvania primarily during the daylight hours on the 8th. Peak wind gusts averaged around 30 mph in the Poconos and the Lehigh Valley and around 45 mph in the greater Philadelphia Metropolitan Area. The strong wind gusts did knock over tree limbs in the local Philadelphia area and a tree was knocked down in Phoenixville (Chester County). About 1,500 homes lost power in Chester County. While the heavy rain did cause the usual poor drainage flooding, recent dry weather and foliage still on the trees prevented further flooding. Storm totals included 2.35 in Chadds Ford (Delaware County), 2.3 inches in Crum Creek (Delaware County), 2.13 inches at the Willow Grove N.A.S. (Montgomery County), 2.00 inches in Norristown (Montgomery County), 1.51 inches at the Northeast Philadelphia Airport, 1.48 inches in Reading, 1.46 inches at the Lehigh Valley International Airport and 1.33 inches at the Philadelphia International Airport. The peak wind gust at the Philadelphia International Airport was 46 mph. |
