Episode narrativeepisode_narrativeAn approximately 100 foot-long section of Colorado Highway 139 over Douglas Pass slid from the main road, forcing the Colorado Department of Transportation to reduce traffic flow in the area to one lane. The slide was located about 37 miles north of Grand Junction and began on April 1, then continued off and on through April 15th. Wet weather caused the shoulder and roadway edge of the southbound lane to slide about four feet on the north side of the pass. The slide area was in a narrow and winding portion of the pass with limited site distance for drivers.
