| event_narrative | WXIA-TV of Atlanta reported that very heavy rain caused the collapse of a 15-foot section of a Hancock Fabrics Store roof. The roof collapsed from the weight of water which accumulated as a result of an improperly functioning gutter system. The collapse resulted in the rupture of a gas line and the building had to be evacuated. However, no injuries were reported. Extensive damage was reported to the store and its contents. The merchandise in the store was ruined from water and considered a near total loss. |
