Rainfall rates of 1 to 2 inches an hour were common with the storms. Heavy rain along the North Fork of the Maquoketa River in Iowa pushed the river to bankfull. The Clinton Airport AWOS measured 48 knots (55 mph) as the storms moved through downing some trees and power lines in Clinton. |
