An elongated ridge of high pressure across the southern U.S. aided in the flow of the monsoonal moisture northward into New Mexico. Showers and thunderstorms developed along the higher terrain across the west and central areas. By late afternoon into the early evening hours scattered to numerous slow moving showers and thunderstorms had developed. Some cells became severe across the north with burn scar flooding occurring across the south. |
