Furthermore, rain on the 12th resulted in street flooding in the South Valley town of Lamont with record rainfall of 0.91 inches for the day at Visalia in Tulare County. Mud slides were reported on the Grapevine just before 10 AM on the 12th due to the heavy rain. Mojave and Rosamond in the Kern County Desert had substantial sheet flow from the steady rain. Rock falls were reported on Highway 178 as it wound through the Kern River Canyon. In Sand Canyon near Tehachapi flooding forced the rescue of a motorist trapped by high water.
