episode_narrativeSeveral hours of heavy rain caused roadway flooding, ponding of water in poor drainage areas and flooding of several businesses in Georgetown. Storm totals included 3.50 inches within Georgetown and 3.18 inches at the Georgetown (Sussex County) Airport. Between 9 a.m. and 10 a.m. EDT, 1.15 inches of rain fell at the airport. Several cars became stranded at flooded intersections. Both U.S. Route 113 and U.S. Route 9 were closed for a while during the morning. The poor drainage flooding backed into several businesses at the Georgetown Shopping Center. The loading dock ramp at the center was filled with water.
