| episode_narrative | Heavy rain that fell during the second half of the afternoon on the 19th and until a bit after midnight on the 20th and caused poor drainage flooding in northwestern New Jersey. It eventually led to a mudslide the next day in Warren County. Storm totals averaged around 2.0 inches. No significant stream flooding was reported. In Liberty Township (Warren County), a mudslide occurred around 8 a.m. EST on the 20th and closed U.S. Route 46 all day. The heavy rain caused a man-made pond to overflow its banks and saturate the ground. A large section of the embankment gave way and the mudslide soon followed. Trees, large boulders and mud covered U.S. Route 46. One pole was snapped. The mud flowed into the Pequest River. No injuries were reported. The route was reopened at 10 p.m. EST on the 20th.
