episode_narrativeA slow moving warm front moved slowly north along the Atlantic Seaboard on the 10th through the 12th. Warm tropical air forced aloft over this boundary resulted in heavy rain across New Jersey on the 10th and 11th. This caused poor drainage. The rain was beneficial in starting the replenishing process in the drought stricken area. Most locations received their normal October precipitation complement from this one event. The Boonton Reservoir jumped 5 feet (17 percent of capacity) and the Manasquan Reservoir increased 6 percent of capacity from this event. Two day storm totals included 4.84 inches in Morristown (Morris County), 4.70 inches in Columbia (Warren County), 4.52 inches at Lake Hopatcong (Morris County), 4.44 inches in Blairstown (Warren County), 4.34 inches in Newton (Sussex County), 4.16 inches in Somerville (Somerset County), 4.15 inches in Wantage (Sussex County), 4.13 inches in New Brunswick (Middlesex County), 3.87 inches in Marlboro (Monmouth County), 3.80 inches in North Plainfield (Somerset County), 3.47 inches in Flemington (Hunterdon County), 3.42 inches in Belmar (Monmouth County), 3.26 inches in Princeton (Mercer County), 2.92 inches in Millville (Cumberland County), 2.78 inches in West Deptford (Gloucester County), 2.70 inches in Trenton (Mercer County), 2.64 inches in Mount Laurel (Burlington County), 2.58 inches in Mount Holly (Burlington County), 2.49 inches in Verga (Gloucester County), 2.45 inches in Somerdale (Camden County), 2.41 inches in Point Pleasant (Ocean County), 2.32 inches in Wildwood (Cape May County), 2.29 inches in Pennsauken (Camden County), 2.05 inches in Estell Manor (Atlantic County) and 1.80 inches in Seabrook (Cumberland County).
