episode_narrativeAfter a dry late summer and an emerging drought, the wet pattern of late September continued through the month of October. Monthly rainfall totals of 4.5 to 6.5 inches were common. Rainfall was about double the usual October amount. Preliminary figures showed Greenup Lock and Dam in Greenup County with one of the higher amounts. Their monthly rainfall total was 6.9 inches. The damp weather pattern resulted in warmer than usual overnight low temperatures. Freezing temperatures were absent during the entire month.
