South Point registered 98 degrees on both the 2nd and the 3rd. Organized and widespread convection stayed mainly to the north, leaving only widely scattered thunderstorms. Many locations had less than an inch of rain for the whole month. Preliminary totals show Nelsonville with 0.37 inches, Marietta with 2 reports of 0.52 inches and 0.69 inches. Newport and McConnelsville both had 0.59 inches. New Lexington of Perry County measured 0.70 inches of rain, while near Patriot of Gallia County, 0.90 inches was reported. By month's end, many small streams were dry, with a developing drought starting to surface.
