| episode_narrative | A low pressure system that developed along the Gulf Coast States on the second moved northeast through Pennsylvania during the early morning of the 3rd and brought a significant precipitation event for the eastern part of the state. In most locations, it was the wettest single precipitation event since September of 2001. Storm totals averaged between 0.75 inches and 2.00 inches. The heaviest rain fell across Carbon, Monroe, Delaware, southeastern Berks and northwestern Chester Counties. Some poor drainage flooding occurred, but streams were running so low prior to the rain that they did not flood. Rain spread from south to north across the region around 6 p.m. EST on the 2nd. The heaviest rain fell between 830 p.m. on the 2nd and 230 a.m. EST on the 3rd. The rain ended by daybreak on the 3rd. Specific storm totals included 2.13 inches in Blakeslee (Monroe County), 1.62 inches in Chadds Ford (Delaware County), 1.54 inches in Springfield Township (Delaware County), 1.52 inches in Mount Pocono (Monroe County) and Meckesville (Carbon County), 1.38 inches in West Chester (Chester County), 1.24 inches in Glenmoore (Chester County) and 1.23 inches in Morgantown (Berks County). |
