A round of storms developed during the early morning hours of June 19th along a warm front and then a second round developed during the afternoon ahead of an approaching cold front. Radar estimates of 3 to 6 inches were common across southern Winneshiek and Allamakee Counties into the northern portions of Fayette and Clayton Counties. A presidential disaster declaration was signed for the repeated rounds of severe weather that hit northeast Iowa in the middle of June. This disaster declaration included Allamakee, Chickasaw and Fayette Counties. |
