episode_narrativeA slow moving cold front and a very humid air mass preceding it helped generate showers and thunderstorms with heavy rain across most of Eastern Pennsylvania during the daylight hours on the 26th. Doppler Radar storm total estimates ranged between 1 and 4 inches with the heaviest rain falling in Chester County. While the heavy rain produced some urban and poor drainage flooding, no serious flooding was reported. Some minor flooding occurred along the East Branch of the Brandywine Creek the morning of the 27th. Storm totals included 2.78 inches in Springfield Township (Delaware County), 2.76 inches in Doylestown (Bucks County), 2.62 inches in Glenmoore (Chester County), 2.25 inches in Springtown (Bucks County), 2.02 inches in West Chester (Chester County), 1.97 inches in Pottstown (Montgomery County) and Bath (Northampton County), 1.83 at the Philadelphia International Airport, 1.81 inches at the Lehigh Valley International Airport and 1.71 inches at the Northeast Philadelphia Airport. The East Branch of the Brandywine Creek at Downingtown reached its 7 foot flood stage from 603 a.m. EDT through 7 a.m. EDT on the 27th. It crested at 7.09 feet at 630 a.m. EDT.
