| episode_narrative | A low pressure system that developed along the Gulf Coast brought heavy rain, particularly to southern areas of the Eastern Shore on the 21st. Rain began before sunrise on the 21st and fell heavy at times during the morning and early afternoon. This caused ponding of water in poor drainage areas, but no serious flooding. The rain ended during the afternoon. The intensifying low pressure system also produced strong northeast winds, with peak wind gusts of between 40 and 45 mph reported. Storm totals included 2.20 inches in Federalsburg (Caroline County), 2.07 inches in Royal Oak (Talbot County) and 1.24 inches in Stevensville (Queen Anne's County). The low pressure system developed in the Gulf of Mexico on the 19th and moved slowly northeast. It reached Georgia the morning of the 20th, North Carolina the morning of the 21st and was about 100 miles east of the New Jersey coast by the morning of the 22nd. |
