episode_narrativeScattered thunderstorms that produced heavy rainfall moved across the central Shenandoah Valley during the afternoon of the 29th. In Rockingham County, heavy downpours caused Fulks Run to overflow its banks and flood Route 259. Rainfall totals included 2.78 inches in Cootes Store and 2.68 inches in Briery Branch. In Shenandoah County, high winds damaged several structures and crops. The aluminum roof of a turkey barn was blown off and thrown 300 yards by high winds. Nearby, trees and corn crops were blown over and apples were blown off trees in an orchard. In addition, the roof of a well house was removed an a large white column was torn from the front porch of a house. A total of 1.66 inches of rain fell in New Market. In Page County, 1.74 inches fell at Lewis Mountain Camp. In Madison County, 1.85 inches fell in Hood.
