| episode_narrative | Heavy rain fell across most of New Jersey from the late evening on the 25th through the early afternoon of the 26th. Storm totals averaged between 1.5 and 2.0 inches and caused some urban and poor drainage flooding occurred. No serious damage was reported. The least rain fell across northwest New Jersey, but precipitation started as freezing rain in Sussex County. Storm totals included 2.14 inches in Estelle Manor (Atlantic County), 1.97 inches in New Brunswick (Middlesex County), 1.89 inches in Millville (Cumberland County), 1.87 inches at the Atlantic City International Airport and also in Chatham (Morris County), 1.78 inches in Belle Mead (Somerset County), 1.76 inches at the Marina within Atlantic City, 1.75 inches in Wertsville (Hunterdon County), 1.72 inches in Washington's Crossing (Mercer County), 1.69 inches in Absecon (Atlantic County), 1.64 inches in Atsion (Burlington County), 1.62 inches in Pennsauken (Camden County), 1.52 inches in Princeton (Mercer County) and 1.48 inches in Long Valley (Morris County). A low pressure system formed over the Gulf Coast States by the morning of the 24th. While the primary low moved northeast into the Great Lakes, a second low pressure system formed along the triple point (The location where the original low pressure's system occluded, cold and warm fronts converge. This is a common place for secondary development.) of its frontal boundary the morning of the 26th over the Delmarva Peninsula. The second low pressure system moved northeast across New Jersey and helped enhance the precipitation. |
