episode_narrativeAs a low pressure system moved north toward the lower Great Lakes, another low developed across the Southeast U.S. and moved north northeast along the Mid Atlantic Coast. Bands of moderate to heavy rain swept north across this area ahead of this system. Rainfall amounts generally ranged from 2 to 3 inches, which caused some flooding of low-lying and poor drainage areas. The axis of heaviest rain occurred from Western Essex County north across Eastern Passaic and Northwest Bergen County in the vicinity of Franklin Lakes. Here are selected rainfall amounts for:Western Essex County: from 2.00 inches at Orange Reservoir and Caldwell Airport to 2.52 inches at Verona.Eastern Passaic County: from 2.12 inches at both West Patterson and Wayne to 2.36 inches at Little Falls.Northwestern Bergen County: 2.40 inches was measured at Franklin Lakes.
