| episode_narrative | A slow moving low pressure system helped drop heavy rain across the Maryland Eastern Shore. Storm totals averaged between 2 and 3 inches. The heaviest rain fell during the afternoon and evening of the 25th. While the rain was heavy, hourly totals did not exceed 0.50 inches and this kept the major streams, creeks and rivers within their banks. Nevertheless there was considerable urban, low-lying area and poor drainage flooding. Storm totals included 3.20 inches in Federalsburg (Caroline County), 2.62 inches in Stevensville (Queen Anne's County), 2.49 inches in Crumpton (Queen Anne's County), 2.10 inches in Easton (Talbot County) and 1.75 inches at the Conowingo Dam (Cecil County). The low pressure system responsible for the heavy rain, traveled from the lower Tennessee Valley the morning of the 25th to just east of Wallops Island, Virginia the morning of the 26th. By the evening of the 26th, the low was well offshore. |
