Heavy rainfall caused some flooding of low-lying and poor drainge areas, especially along streets in Northern Passaic, Western Bergen, and Essex Counties.Rainfall amounts ranged from 2 1/2 to around 5 inches. Here are selected rainfall amounts for:Passaic County: 4.73 inches at Greenwood Lake, 4.23 inches at Wanaque Reservoir, and 3.00 inches at Ringwood.Bergen County: 4.10 inches at Ramsey, 3.10 inches at Midland Park, and 2.84 inches at Woodcliff Lake. (At Teterboro Airport, 2.29 inches was measured.)Essex County: 4.10 inches at West Caldwell. (At Newark Airport, 1.43 inches was measured.)Hudson County: 2.49 inches at Harrison.Although most rainfall amounts were less than 2 inches across Union County, 2.36 inches of rain was measured in Elizabeth. |
