Episode narrativeepisode_narrativeUpper level high pressure over the Four Corners area and resultant southeast flow kept abundant moisture between 1.5 and 2 inches of precipitable water over southeast Arizona. A disturbance triggered northeast moving thunderstorms that produced heavy rain and ponding of water in Pinal County.
Event narrativeevent_narrativeThunderstorms produced 1 to 2 inches of rain in less than an hour over parts of Eloy. Without sufficient drainage, water quickly ponded, flooding streets and yards. Water was a foot deep in some streets, stranding several vehicles. Damage due to flooding of homes was minimal, but extensive areas of mud were left on streets and in yards.
