Widespread showers and embedded thunderstorms developed across central Kentucky during the early morning hours ahead of a cold front that would approach the Ohio River later that afternoon. Several episodes of thunderstorms formed and moved northeast along an axis across south central Kentucky, roughly stretching from Logan to Casey Counties. In general, 2 1/2 to 3 inches of rain fell across Warren, Barren, Metcalfe, Allen, Casey and Adair Counties, leading to minor flooding of intersections and low water crossings. Several days later, several larger main-stem rivers went into flood. |
