Event narrativeevent_narrativeMonsoonal fed thunderstorms produced heavy rainfall over portions of Hinsdale County and were responsible for numerous land slides along Highway 149 near Lake City. The largest slide, near Larson Creek, was estimated to be 12 foot high and contained approximately 1200 to 1500 yards of debris. Up to 60 vehicles were stranded on either side of the slide for a few hours.
