A mid level short wave trough traversed southeast Georgia during the afternoon over a very moist and unstable airmass. Steering motion was slow but primarily to the east. Numerous storms fired across the area during the afternoon and evening as the sea breezes and their outflows converged between Highway 301 and Interstate 95.
