Episode narrativeepisode_narrativeAn unstable and moist airmass was over the local area under a very slow steering motion. Precipitable water was near 2 inches. When the sea breezes merged just west of the St. Johns River and east of Highway 301 in northeast Florida during the late afternoon and evening, numerous storms erupted. Heavy rainfall caused localized flooding, and one severe storm developed that produce quarter size hail over Putnam county.
Event narrativeevent_narrativeA hourly rainfall amount of 2.5 inches was measured in southeast Palm Coast between 10 pm and 11 pm. There was also some street flooding on the northbound lane of U.S. Highway 1 in Bunnell.
