Weather forecast office sourcewfo_sourceMesonet
Episode narrativeepisode_narrativeAn intense low pressure system that moved through the Great Lakes on the 9th produced a strong southerly flow of moist air from the Gulf of Mexico and Atlantic Ocean. Rain began falling during the evening of the 8th and ended by Noon EST on the 9th. It fell heavy at times during the early morning of the 9th. Event precipitation totals averaged two to three inches across the Eastern Shore. The concentration of the heavy rain in a relatively short period of time produced poor drainage flooding and field flooding. It also caused a couple of waterways in Caroline County to flood.
