These storms eventually stalled and produced torrential rainfall across South-Central portions of the state along the Ohio River. Rainfall amounts of around six inches in two hours created dangerous flash flooding and several water rescues were required as the event unfolding during rush hour traffic. Later in the afternoon a line of severe thunderstorms moved across the same area, producing damaging winds and bringing another round of heavy rainfall and flash flooding. |
