Episode narrativeepisode_narrativeA cold front was positioned across north-central Florida with a low level northeast flow over the area. Southwest flow aloft steered a series of short wave troughs over the area which had deep layer moisture in place. A heavy rainfall producing convergent band developed along the northeast Florida coast which brought heavy rainfall to Duval and Flagler counties.
Event narrativeevent_narrativeAn off duty NWS employee measured 6 inches of rain since 8 pm EDT last evening. Of that total, 3.25 inches had fallen since 1040 am EDT that day.
