Episode narrativeepisode_narrativeA large complex of showers and thunderstorms moved east, out of northern Kentucky, passing through southwestern West Virginia during the late morning and early afternoon.
Event narrativeevent_narrativeLocalized downpours hit the city of Huntington during the late morning and into the early afternoon on the 10th. Measured rain amounts for the 24 hour period were in the 2.4 to 2.5 inch range. Most of that rain fell in about 2 hours. ||The downpours overwhelmed the city drainage system. The railroad viaducts flooded, causing temporary road closures and detours. About a dozen vehicles stalled out in standing water.
