Episode narrativeepisode_narrativeAn upper level ridge of high pressure over the south central United States resulted in a period of unseasonably hot weather over eastern Oklahoma from the 17th through the 20th. Afternoon temperatures climbed into the upper 90s each day. These temperatures combined with high humidity resulted in heat index values from 110 to 115 degrees. At least 35 people were treated for heat-related illness in Tulsa on those dates.
