Although the heat was still well below heat warning thresholds, it was still significant enough to result in injuries due to careless behavior. During the early afternoon hours, an infant suffered heat related injuries after being left in a car for an extended period of time. The injury occurred in the greater Phoenix area, about 1 mile west of the town of Goodyear. The high temperature for the day in Phoenix was 107 degrees, just 3 degrees above the normal of 104. |

Although the heat did not reach to excessive heat warning levels, it was significant enough to result in an injury to an infant left unattended in an automobile. According to local broadcast media, at about 1400MST a five month old baby was found alone in a car; the infant suffered heat-related injuries but was found alive. The baby was found about 1 mile to the west of the town of Goodyear. The high temperature in Phoenix that day was 107 degrees and it was estimated to be about 106 at the time the infant was located. |
