Little mixing of dewpoints occurred during this time, with the resultant heat indices ranging from 105-110 degrees across Southcentral Arkansas. A weak cool front and associated upper level shortwave trough moved through the area during the morning and afternoon of the 11th, but the slightly cooler and drier air were delayed in mixing across the area until the evening and overnight hours into July 12th. Thus, afternoon temperatures again warmed into the mid 90s across Southcentral Arkansas, with resultant heat indices ranging from 105 to 108 degrees. |
