Maximum temperatures were near or just above the century mark across the eastern panhandle of West Virginia. Heat index values ranged from 105 to 110 each day, but aside from several heat exhaustion cases, there were few problems. No heat-related deaths were reported.Maximum temperatures at Martinsburg airport (WVZ052) were 101 degrees on the 16th and 100 on the 17th.
