| episode_narrative | A minimal heat wave produced air temperatures of 95 degrees and dewpoints in the lower to mid 70s, and heat indices of 105 to 110 for one day. The lowest air temperature in Milwaukee on the 29th was 74. A large crowd attended the Summerfest event on Milwaukee's lakefront. County doctors and Red Cross volunteers administered medical treament to 70 people who were overcomed/injured by the heat. Six of these people were taken to local hospitals for further treatment. There were no deaths. It is believed that the water "misters" installed on the Summerfest grounds prevented more injuries or possible deaths. |
