| Episode narrativeepisode_narrative | Another work week of hot weather affected southeastern Pennsylvania from the 15th through the 19th. High temperatures reached into the 90s in most areas each day. The highest temperatures mainly occurred on the 17th. Humidity levels were high for most of the week, except for the 16th when a weak back door cold front moved through the region. The heat and humidity extended into the Lehigh Valley from the 17th through the 19th. Many locations in the Poconos had high temperatures in the 90s on the 17th also. A second stronger front moved through the state during the evening of the 19th and the early morning of the 20th and ended the string of 90 degree high temperatures. Two men in Philadelphia (a 57-year-old and a 73-year-old) died from hyperthermia. Highest temperatures included 98 degrees in Valley Forge (Chester County) and Lehighton (Carbon County), 97 degrees at the Franklin Institute within Philadelphia, Reading (Berks County) and Bath (Northampton County), 96 degrees in Easton (Northampton County) and Perkasie (Bucks County), 95 degrees at the Philadelphia International Airport, Doylestown (Bucks County) and East Stroudsburg (Monroe County) and 94 degrees in Pottstown (Montgomery County). |
