episode_narrativeDaytime high temperatures in the mid to upper 90's, combined with dew points in the mid 70's, resulted in heat indices from 105 to 112 degrees. Nighttime heat indices only fell to around 80. The highest temperature at Paducah during this heat wave was 99 degrees. The Salvation Army reported giving out many more fans than usual for July, which apparently helped keep heat-related illnesses to a minimum. No heat-related fatalities were reported.
