episode_narrativeA large ridge of high pressure both at the surface and aloft along the western Atlantic Ocean produced as much as six consecutive days of heat and increasing humidity across the Maryland Eastern Shore from June 26th through July 1st. High temperatures reached into the mid 90s with June 28th and June 30th being the two hottest days. A cold front broke the excessive heat with strong to severe thunderstorms on July 1st. Highest temperatures included 95 degrees at the Baltimore-Washington International Airport and 93 degrees in Stevensville (Queen Anne's County) and Salisbury.
