This 105 degree temperature was also the eighth time during the Summer of 2000 that the high temperature in Mobile rose to 100 degrees or higher. This broke the previous record of seven 100 degree or greater days set back in the Summer of 1954. Three of the eight 100 degree or greater days this summer occurred in the month of August.
