While July 16th was the hottest and most humid day (afternoon heat indices of around 100F). It took a series of cold fronts to whittle away at the heat. The last front passed on the night of the 19th. There were four heat related deaths, two in Philadelphia (an 85-year old woman and a 91-year-old woman) and two in Delaware County (an 81-year-old man in Havertown) and a 61-year-old man in Chester).
