High temperatures reached 95 to 100 again and combined with the humid air mass to produce afternoon heat indices of around 105F on the 28th. Thunderstorms and then a cold front that moved through the area ended the excessive heat. High temperatures included 100 degrees at the Balthimore-Washington International Airport, 97 degrees in Salisbury (Wicomico County) and 95 degrees in Easton (Talbot County). The unseasonably hot weather throughout June made June 2010 the second hottest June on record in Maryland. The statewide average temperature of 75.2 degrees was only surpassed by 75.9 degrees in 1943. |
