The heat wave ended when a cold front moved through the region early on the 24th. High temperatures were in the lower to mid 90s. Lower high temperatures occurred on the 23rd in northern parts of the Eastern Shore. The combination of the temperatures and dew points produced apparent temperatures or heat indices of around 100F.
