Episode narrativeepisode_narrativeMultiple waterspouts were observed both Atlantic-side and later, Gulf-side of the Lower Florida Keys. Convective showers developed in association with a decaying outflow boundary from earlier thunderstorms in the southeast Gulf of Mexico. However, weak southerly and veering flow propagated the later showers northward from the Atlantic side to the Gulf of Mexico side of the Lower Keys.
Event narrativeevent_narrativeA waterspout was observed about 2 miles south of the Key West International Airport. The condensation funnel cloud extended about halfway down to the water surface and a spray ring was visible.
