With the light flow in place, waterspouts were able to develop across the Atlantic waters. In fact, one even moved onshore. The Atlantic sea breeze also was able push westward across South FL while the Gulf sea breeze remained pinned across the west coast metro areas. This allowed for strong showers and storms to develop during the afternoon hours, including over the Atlantic waters due to outflow boundaries. Strong wind gusts and frequent lightning were the main hazards. |
