Episode narrativeepisode_narrativeA surface boundary stalled across northern Iowa and southern Minnesota, resulting in multiple days of convective activity. While heat and humidity supplied plenty of instability, kinematic lift along the boundary was weak and deep layers shear was less than 30 knots. While no severe storms developed, the instability created a favorable environment for funnel cloud development. This occurred two days in a a row with funnel clouds reported in Palo Alto county both days.
